INDOOR ANIMAL

Having ignored the government’s mandatory evacuation of the region, a helpful handyman — Matt — finds himself in a desperate situation when the air in his neck of the woods becomes toxic and kills most of his loved ones. He dons the hazmat suit he uses for work, brings his one-year old nephew inside it, and sets out to find breathable air somewhere out in the world.
What he finds before achieving this simple goal is a lunar landscape devoid of other humans — mostly — and a series of obstacles that keep him from escaping the boondocks. When he sees another man in a similar hazmat suit, he follows him, hoping to find any port in a storm.
Fortunately, he’s led to an underground mine with a contained air system where other survivors are holed up. Unfortunately, he’s taken prisoner by a terrified opportunist — Levi — and forced into confinement — like an animal.
As the toxic air outside of the mine begins to seep in, those being held captive must band together to forge an escape plan and overthrow their captor.
